  One cannot review a restaurant without review all 3 aspects that make a good or bad restaurant. My wife and I were visiting from Texas and we had a chance to dine at Another kind cafe. Below is our review.
  
  1) The food: All the dishes that we had were just as good as I had expected them to be if not better. One of the owners, who I've known for over 20 years, has traveled all over and gained a very extensive knowledge about cuisines. She doesn't just know good food, she understands what good food is supposed to taste like. Combing that knowledge with her cooking talent, she's bringing Laguna Beach, and I dare say the whole Orange County, one of the most authentic Vietnamese food as well as unique twist to all the dishes that I tried. At Another kind cafe, you don't have to travel all over to try different cuisines, the owner already did that for you.
  
  2)Customer service: Since I know the owners and having gone to a few other restaurants with them myself, I saw that they always believed in 1st tier service only. Needless to say, they carry the same expectations at their own restaurant and their staff members reflect their values and belief.
  
  3)The restaurant itself: is cozy enough that you can treat your relatives out for a family lunch or dinner. It's nice enough that you can take that special someone out for a date to impress them with your taste in cuisine. It's cool enough that you can take your friends out to boast about that awesome place to eat that you know.

  Nice semi industrial indoor-outdoor vibe, fresh interesting Vietnamese-influenced food, surprisingly good coffee and friendly service. Worth a half mile trip from downtown Laguna (good parking) to avoid the parking hassle and lines.

  I went here on a lunch break whim and was ecstatic with the results! This is definitely my new favorite restaurant, I am not saying they will provide the best food you have ever had, but everytime you walk through those doors your tastes will be greeted with flavors that will make them sing! I came in and they made an off-menu dish that had me hooked on the first bite. They must be working magic in the back to have flavors that vibrant and balanced. With an awesome atmosphere, good drinks, amazing staff, and out of this world food, what more could you ask?
